The problem with linen in Bali

Towels that never quite dry. Sheets that feel damp when you get into bed. A duvet cover that smells faintly of mildew a day after it was "washed". Anyone who has spent a rainy season on the island knows the routine.

The cause is simple: bed linen and towels are heavy, they hold water, and most laundries dry them on the same short hot cycle as everything else. The outside is dry, the core is still damp, and the fold goes in the cupboard with the moisture inside. Humidity does the rest.

We treat linen as its own job. It is washed apart from clothes, dried until it is dry all the way through, checked by hand before folding, and packed by set so a bed can be made straight from the bag.

How we care for linen and towels

1. Inspection. Stains on sheets are common: sunscreen, massage oil, makeup, blood. They are identified and treated by hand before washing, under the same stain removal guarantee as clothes.
2. Separate loads. Whites with whites, colours with colours, never with clothes and never with another customer's order.
3. Organic products. No chlorine, phosphates, optical brighteners or fragrance. White sheets stay white through proper washing, not through bleach that turns them thin and yellow within a year.
4. Full drying. Towels and thick sheets are dried until the core is dry, then rested before folding. This is the step that prevents the musty smell.
5. Pressing on request. Sheets and pillowcases can be steam pressed for a hotel-style bed. See ironing service.
6. Packed per set. Each bed's linen comes back together, folded, so a changeover takes minutes.

For villas, hosts and long-stay guests

Linen is the laundry that decides a review. Guests forgive a slow Wi-Fi; they do not forgive a damp towel. Prices and weights

Linen is priced by weight like everything else: 100,000 IDR per kg, everything included. A double sheet set with two pillowcases weighs roughly 1.5–2 kg; a bath towel 500–700 g; a duvet cover about 1 kg.
