Ironing service in Bali
Clean is not the same as ready to wear. Every TRAST order is steam ironed and folded before it comes back, so your linen shirts, dresses and trousers arrive pressed, not crumpled in a bag. It is part of the 100,000 IDR per kg price, not an extra.
Why ironing matters more in Bali
Humidity is the enemy of a pressed shirt. Clothes that were dried in a hurry and folded damp come out of the bag creased and slightly stiff, and after a few hours in the tropical air they look like they were never washed at all. Add a hot tumble dryer, the standard at most kiloan laundries, and cotton comes back both wrinkled and one size smaller.
At TRAST, ironing is not a finishing touch we add for a fee. It is the last step of the full laundry process: inspect, sort, treat stains, wash, dry correctly, steam iron, fold, deliver. It is how a linen shirt becomes wearable again instead of merely clean.
How we iron
- Steam irons for everything. Steam relaxes fibres, so fabric is pressed without scorching or shine.
- Temperature per label. Cotton and linen take heat; viscose, silk and blends do not. We check the label before the iron touches the fabric.
- Damp pressing for linen. Linen presses best while slightly damp. We time drying so it reaches the iron at the right moment.
- Reverse side for dark and delicate fabrics. Prevents the shiny marks you get from ironing black cotton on the front.
- Folded or on hangers? We fold and pack by default, which travels well on a scooter and fits in a suitcase. You do not need to give us hangers.
What comes back pressed
Shirts and blouses, dresses and skirts, linen and cotton trousers, shorts, polo shirts, t-shirts folded flat. Bed sheets and pillowcases are pressed on request for villas and hosts. Activewear, swimwear and knits are not ironed, because they should not be; they are dried in shape and folded.
Special requests
Write them in the WhatsApp message and we attach them to your order:
- A specific shirt needed for an event tomorrow morning
- Trousers with or without a crease
- Sheets pressed for a guest arrival
- A garment you want steamed only, not pressed flat
If something cannot be ironed safely, for example a printed t-shirt with a plastic print, we will fold it instead and tell you why.
Ironing as part of a 24-hour turnaround
Ironing is the slowest step of a laundry process, which is why cheap laundries skip it or charge extra. We plan the 24 hours around it: pickup, inspection and washing on day one, drying overnight or in the dryer depending on fabric, then ironing and packing so the courier leaves on time. Ironing — questions
Is ironing an extra charge?
No. Steam ironing is included in the 100,000 IDR per kg price of every laundry order, together with washing, drying, folding, pickup and delivery. See the price list.
Can I send clothes only for ironing, without washing?
Our standard service is the full process, and ironing is part of it. If you have a special request, for example clean clothes that only need pressing, tell us in WhatsApp and we will tell you what we can do.
Do you iron linen and silk?
Yes. Linen is steamed while slightly damp so it presses flat without shine. Silk and viscose are ironed at low temperature on the reverse side, as part of the delicates process.
Will you iron creases into my trousers or leave them flat?
We follow the garment. Tailored trousers get a crease, chinos and linen trousers are pressed flat. If you have a preference, write it in the WhatsApp message and we note it on your order.
Do you iron bed sheets?
Yes, on request. Villa hosts often ask for pressed sheets and pillowcases for guest changeovers. See bed linen and towels.
