The problem

After more than two years of living in Bali, our founder kept running into the same thing. Every laundry on the island was cheap, fast and unpredictable. Favourite shirts came back with the stain still there. White t-shirts turned grey after one wash with someone else's jeans. Colours faded, linen went stiff, a bikini lost its elastic in a hot dryer, and every few months something simply did not come back.

None of it was malicious. It was the process: one hot wash, one hot dry, everything mixed, nobody looking at the clothes before they went in. At 15,000 IDR per kg, that is what the price buys.

The idea

TRAST was created to solve that exact feeling: not just to wash clothes, but to care for the pieces people actually love. The name is what we wanted customers to feel when they handed over a bag.

That meant building the laundry around a process instead of a machine cycle:

• Every item inspected before washing, so stains and problems are found first
• Sorted by colour and fabric, so whites stay white and delicates stay the right size
• Stains treated by hand, backed by a guarantee: if it does not come out, that item is free
• Organic products only: no chlorine, no phosphates, no optical brighteners, no fragrance, no commercial powders
• Drying per fabric, tumble or air, because heat is what shrinks and fades clothes
• Steam ironing and folding as part of every order, not an extra
• Each order handled separately from pickup to delivery, so nothing gets mixed and nothing gets lost

How it works today

Three and a half years later, the process is the same and the routine is simple. You message us on WhatsApp, a courier on a scooter collects your bag from a villa gate in Canggu, a reception in Seminyak or a guesthouse in Ubud, and the next day it is back, ironed and folded. Pickup and delivery are free in every area of Bali. The price is 100,000 IDR per kg with everything included.
