Laundry in Bali for expats and long-stay residents
Once you are actually living in Bali rather than passing through, laundry stops being a one-off errand and becomes a weekly fact of life. TRAST works the way long-stay residents actually need it to: a WhatsApp message, a free pickup at your villa or coliving gate, and clean, ironed clothes back in 24 hours, on whatever schedule suits your week.
Laundry as a weekly routine, not an errand
Living in Bali long-term changes the laundry equation. It stops being something you handle once before checking out and becomes a recurring line in your week, alongside groceries and gym sessions. Most long-stay residents settle into a pattern fast: a bag fills up over five or six days, and either it gets dealt with on a fixed day or it quietly grows into a problem in the corner of the room.
TRAST is built around that pattern rather than a one-off tourist pickup. You message us on WhatsApp once, tell us your area and a day and time that suits you, and from then on a pickup is just a bag left at the gate. There is no subscription and no fixed plan, each pickup is a normal order at the standard 100,000 IDR per kg, but nothing stops you treating it as a routine.
Villa and coliving logistics
Most residents we work with are in a villa, a coliving space, or a shared house, not a hotel with a laundry desk. That changes how pickup has to work: no reception to hand a bag to, sometimes no one home during the day. Tell us your gate, your villa name, your coliving locker or the housemate who will be around, and we collect from wherever that is. See pickup and delivery for how it works day to day, and our areas for the full list of places we cover across the island.
What a month of laundry actually costs
There is no flat monthly rate, laundry is priced by weight at 100,000 IDR per kg with everything included, pickup, inspection, sorting, stain removal, washing, drying, ironing, folding and delivery. As a rough guide, a single resident sending 4-5 kg a week, roughly two loads of everyday clothes plus a towel, comes to about 1.6-2.2 million IDR a month. A couple or a household with more bed linen will run higher. There is no minimum commitment, you pay per order, and the full price list covers shoes and other specifics.
Keeping whites, activewear and linen alive over months
The things that wear out fastest under Bali's heat and humidity are exactly the things long-stay residents care about most: white t-shirts that grey after a few months of street-laundry washing, gym clothes that lose their stretch, and bed linen that starts to smell no matter how it is dried. TRAST washes with organic products, no chlorine, no optical brighteners and no commercial powders, sorts every order by colour and fabric, and dries everything through fully rather than "mostly". See laundry, wash, dry and fold and bed linen and towels for what that covers.
No forms, just WhatsApp
There is no account to create and no app to download. A regular pickup is a WhatsApp thread: you send a message, we confirm a time, the bag goes out and comes back. If your schedule changes one week, you say so in the same chat. That is the whole system, built for people who are actually living here and do not want laundry to take more thought than it has to.
Trust that holds up over months, not just one order
A street kiloan shop can get away with an off day when a guest is only in Bali for a week. A resident who sends laundry every week for a year notices the pattern fast: the shirt that came back a shade greyer, the towel that started smelling within a day, the sock that never turned up again. TRAST was built by someone who lived through exactly that after two years in Bali, which is why every order, long-stay or one-off, is inspected before washing, handled completely separately from every other customer's, and covered by a straightforward guarantee: if a stain does not come out, that item's cleaning is free, no argument needed.
Settling into a laundry routine that just works
Most long-stay residents go through the same arc: a few trial pickups to see how the clothes come back, then a settled weekly or twice-weekly rhythm that barely needs discussing after the first month. There is nothing to sign, nothing to cancel, and no penalty for a quiet week when you are travelling. If you are new to Bali and still working out your own routine, start with one pickup, see how it fits your week, and adjust from there in the same WhatsApp thread you already have.

Laundry for expats in Bali — common questions
Is there a subscription or monthly plan?
No. There is no subscription and no fixed plan, every pickup is its own order booked in WhatsApp at the standard price. Many residents just message us on the same day each week, which works the same as a routine without any paperwork.
How much does laundry cost for someone living in Bali long-term?
At 100,000 IDR per kg, a typical single resident sending 4-5 kg a week (roughly two loads of everyday clothes, gym wear and a towel or two) works out to about 400,000-500,000 IDR a week. See the price list for the full breakdown, including shoes at 150,000 IDR per pair.
Will my white t-shirts and towels actually stay white?
That is one of the main reasons long-stay residents switch to TRAST. We use organic products with no chlorine and no optical brighteners, sort whites from colours on every order, and dry everything fully, which is what keeps whites from going grey over months of washing.
Can I set a regular pickup day without booking every time?
Yes. Tell us the day and rough time that suits your week and we treat it as your standing pickup, you can still adjust or skip a week any time in WhatsApp, no forms and no penalty.
Do you cover coliving spaces and shared houses, not just villas?
Yes. We collect from coliving lockers, shared house gates and villa complexes across every area of Bali. Tell us the name of the place and who to ask for and we work it out.
