Laundry service in Penestanan with free pickup & delivery

What Penestanan does to your clothes

Penestanan sits on the hillside west of central Ubud, reached by a long flight of steps that gives the village its quiet, almost cut-off feel. It has been home to painters and craftspeople for decades, and today it is mostly villas, studios and rice-field views rather than a tourist strip. The laundry problem here is less about sand and more about the hills: humidity that lingers in a valley, and a climb that makes carrying a laundry bag down to the main road impractical.

TRAST runs a regular Ubud route out to Penestanan, meeting guests and residents at a point that suits the steps rather than expecting everyone to come down. Each order is sorted by colour and fabric, stains treated before washing, dried fully, then ironed and folded, back within 24 hours.

How pickup works in Penestanan

1. Send a location pin on WhatsApp, with a landmark or "top of the steps" if that is easier.
2. Leave the bag at your villa gate or an agreed meeting point.
3. We collect by scooter, following our regular route into Penestanan.
4. Everything is back in 24 hours, washed, ironed and folded.

Penestanan and the area around it

• Penestanan's hillside steps, studios and rice-field villas
• The rest of Ubud, which Penestanan sits inside, a short ride down the hill
• Denpasar, on the same road south, see our Denpasar page
• Sanur, reachable on the same route towards the coast, see our Sanur page

What Penestanan customers usually send

• Villa bed linen and towels for long-stay guests up the steps, see bed linen & towels
• Delicates and hand-wash pieces, including anything from a painting or craft studio, handled through our delicates process
• Everyday clothes, ironed and folded, carried down without you having to
• Yoga and activewear, washed cool so fabric holds its stretch

Why Penestanan regulars stay with TRAST

Living up the steps in Penestanan means anything that saves a climb is worth having, and a laundry pickup that meets you where you are is exactly that. Every order is handled separately, inspected before washing, and covered by our stain removal guarantee, so a stubborn paint or food stain does not mean losing a favourite shirt.

Booking and paying for a Penestanan pickup

There is no app and no prepayment, you pay once the bag is back and you have had a chance to check it. TRAST extended its Ubud route up the steps to Penestanan as more long-stay villas opened here, and every order stays fully separate, a studio's paint-marked clothes are never mixed with a neighbouring villa's bed linen. We use organic products only, no chlorine, no phosphates, no optical brighteners and no fragrance, gentle enough for yoga and activewear to keep their stretch through a long stay on the hillside. If the steps or a meeting point make a particular pickup awkward, tell us in the WhatsApp thread and we adjust.
